Transitions

Transition ministry is the task of assisting congregations and clergy in the work of discernment and the preparation for a search process for new clergy, or for new positions.

Each diocese in the Episcopal Church has a Diocesan Transition Ministry Officer charged with this responsibility. The Diocesan Transition Ministry Officer for the Diocese of Tennessee is Canon Jody Howard.

Churches in Transition

We hold up in prayer all congregations and clergy within our diocese who are experiencing this season of transition.

Direct us, O Lord, in all our doings with thy most gracious favor, and further us with thy continual help; that in all our works begun, continued, and ended in thee, we may glorify thy holy Name, and finally, by thy mercy, obtain everlasting life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Please contact Canon Jody Howard, Canon to the Ordinary for the Diocese of Tennessee, with any questions regarding open clergy positions. Reach him via email or call him at Diocesan House at 615-251-3322.

OTM Portfolio

The Office of Transition Ministry Portfolio (OTM Portfolio) is a database of and for clergy, lay people, and faith communities of the Episcopal Church.

By registering and completing an Individual Ministry Portfolio, clergy and lay persons offer their gifts, skills, and experience for service in the church. Faith communities in search of new leadership are able to offer a profile of themselves, and the gifts, skills and experience they are looking for in a new leader.

Individuals can register to create their portfolios. Congregations, please contact Canon Jody Howard who can assist you in creating your Community Ministry Portfolio.
